Altadis U.S.A. announced that it was awarded the 2015 Best in Show at the recently concluded International Premium Cigar & Pipe Association in New Orleans. It won the award for the best exhibition space and booth layout, as well as the most modern branding.
Altadis U.S.A. employed concierges in its booth so attendees were directed to the appropriate sales representatives who had the knowledge that the attendees were seeking. The booth also featured a complimentary new cigar sampling bar, New Orleans-inspired food such as beignets, as well as cocktails including mint juleps, and a hurricane cocktail hour. Entertainment within the booth included a tarot card reader and a tattoo artist.
Siegfried Maruschke Mendez, Director of Tobacco at Jose Mendez & Co. gave an insightful presentation covering the reintroduction of the Pilotico Premium Tobacco Variety, a tobacco not seen since the 1980s. Maruschke Mendez’s presentation was followed by a champagne toast to the 80th anniversary of the Montecristo brand.
The company showcased a variety of cigars at its booth, including Espada by Montecristo ESTOQUE, Montecristo White Vintage Connecticut, ROMEO Añejo by Romeo y Julieta, Romeo y Julieta Aging Room, H. Upmann Basis Point No. 2 and limited–edition cigars, Henry Clay Tattoo (Pete Johnson Collaboration), and the Montecristo 80th Anniversary Cigar.
In addition, the company’s Montecristo 80th Anniversary cigars and the Henry Clay Tattoo cigars sold out on the first day of the show.
