Featured Cocktails: Paloma

Ingredients Serves 2 4 oz. tequila blanco 4 oz. fresh squeezed grapefruit juice 1 oz. maple syrup or simple syrup 2 oz. soda water Flaky sea salt and grapefruit wedge for garnish Directions Sprinkle flaky sea salt on a small plate. Slightly dampen rim of glasses with a grapefruit wedge and dip into salt. Combine the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice and syrup into the glass and stir. Fill the glass with ice and top with soda water. Garnish with grapefruit.

Ingredients Serves 2 4 oz. brandy 2 oz. orange liqueur 2 oz. fresh lemon juice 2 teaspoons white sugar Ice cubes Lemon or orange twist for garnish Directions Sprinkle the sugar on a small plate. Slightly dampen rim of glasses with a lemon wedge and dip into sugar. Combine brandy, orange liqueur and lemon juice into a shaker. Fill with ice. Cover and shake for about 30 seconds until the shaker is frosty. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon or orange twist.

Ingredients Serves 2 1 fluid oz. simple syrup 2 fluid oz. fresh lemon juice 5 fluid oz. whiskey Ice cubes Cherries and lemon wedges for garnish Directions Combine the simple syrup, lemon juice and whiskey in a shaker. Fill with ice. Cover and shake for about 30 seconds until the shaker is frosty. Strain into martini glasses or tumblers with of ice. Garnish with cherries (optional).

Ingredients Serves 1 2 oz. premium rye whiskey ½ art demerara sugar syrup (or dissolved dark brown sugar) 2 dashes of aromatic bitters 1 lemon peel/zest 1 orange peel/zest 1 piece angelica root Directions Ignite the dried angelica root on a heat-resistant surface. Extinguish the flame with a rocks glass by placing the glass over the root. Stir all the other ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a smoked rocks glass with fresh ice. Squeeze lemon and orange zest over the cocktail and garnish.

Ingredients Serves 1 2 oz. orange infused gin or blood orange gin 1 ½ oz. ruby red grapefruit juice 1 ½ oz. cold breakfast tea ½ tsp. sugar syrup 1 orange peel/zest Directions In a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes–shake gin, grapefruit juice, cold tea and sugar syrup or honey. Squeeze orange zest over the shaken cocktail, and pour into chilled coupe glass and serve.

Ingredients Serves 1 2 oz premium smoked rum 2 oz espresso cold brew coffee ½ tsp vanilla syrup 2 dashes of black walnut bitters 1 pinch of cinnamon Directions Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a cocktail glass with ice cubes and enjoy.

Ingredients Serves 1 1 oz premium orange cognac liqueur 1 oz premium bourbon whiskey 2 lemon wedges 6 to 8 mint leaves Garnish: mint sprig (optional) Directions Twist the mint leaves slightly, without breaking. Add the lemon wedges, cognac, whiskey and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into an old fashioned cocktail glass and garnish with mint sprig.

Featured Cocktails: Spicy Hot Jalapeño Michelada

Ingredients Serves 1 2 limes (one juiced, one wedged-rim) ¼ cup spicy hot tomato juice 2 tsp Mexican-style hot sauce (Tapatío-preferred) 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp pickled jalapeño juice 2-3 grinds fresh black pepper 1 can or bottle light Mexican beer (12 oz) Kosher or sea salt 1 small sliced jalapeño 1 tsp garlic salt (rim) 3 tbsp Tajín chili and lime salt blend (rim) Directions Combine the garlic salt and Tajín in a small, shallow dish in an even layer. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with one of the juiced lime wedges, and dip the glass rim into the dish to create a salt rim. Add ice to the cocktail glass. In a cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, spicy tomato juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, jalapeño juice, black pepper and a pinch of salt. Shake vigorously, pour into cocktail glass, add 2-3 slices of jalapeño and top with Mexican beer. Use the remaining beer to top off cocktail while drinking.
