More often than not, vodka is drunk neat. Most vodka drinkers don’t add water. Or ice. Though sometimes flavored, vodka is a notoriously colorless spirit. Except today. Today we’re adding some color to the drink with these four vodka-based cocktail recipes.
Color #1: Red
What You Need to Turn Your Vodka Red:
1 oz premium vodka
3 oz tomato juice
2 dashes red hot sauce
2 dashes green hot sauce
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
½ oz lemon juice
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 celery stalk
Note: If you prefer your Bloody Mary spicier, add more of the hot sauces and pepper.
What to Do to Turn Your Vodka Red:
Put all ingredients except the celery stalk in a mixing glass.
Pour it back and forth with another mixing glass.
Strain it into a highball glass filled with ice.
Garnish with the celery stalk.
Color #2: Black
What You Need to Turn Your Vodka Black:
1¾ oz vodka
¾ oz coffee liqueur
What to Do to Turn Your Vodka Black:
Build the ingredients in an ice-filled old fashioned glass.
Stir well and serve.
Color #3: Blue
What You Need to Turn Your Vodka Blue:
1 oz vodka
1 oz blue curaçao liqueur
1 oz lime juice
What to Do to Turn Your Vodka Blue:
Combine all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker.
Shake well.
Pour through a strainer into an old fashioned glass filled with ice.
Color #4: Orange
What You Need to Turn Your Vodka Orange:
2 oz vodka
5 oz orange juice
What to Do to Turn Your Vodka Orange:
Put three ice cubes in a highball glass.
Add the vodka.
Fill the rest of the glass with the orange juice.
Stir and serve.
