When you think of honey, the first thing you probably think of is tea. While honey is great in tea, it’s also really good in cocktails. To celebrate National Honey Month, we’re giving you six cocktail recipes that feature honey.
Ingredients:
1 shot Scotch whisky
1 tbsp honey
1 bag tea
boiling water
Directions:
Place Scotch, honey and a tea bag in a coffee mug. Pour boiling hot water in the mug. Steep for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove the tea bag.
Ingredients:
2 oz Jamaican dark rum
¼ oz honey
½ oz lemon juice
Directions:
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour in the rum, honey and lemon juice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Ingredients:
4 cups Madeira
6 tbsp honey
2 tbsp lemon juice
8 strips orange peels
6 whole cloves
½ cinnamon stick
½ cup Cointreau orange liqueur
Directions:
Over medium heat, bring Madeira, honey, juice, orange peels, cloves and cinnamon to a simmer in a large saucepan. Reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes without simmering. Add Cointreau and stir until hot. Serve warm in mug. Leave the peels and spices in the saucepan.
Ingredients:
2 oz cognac
2/3 oz whipping cream
1 tsp honey
1 oz hot water
Directions:
Dissolve honey in hot water. Let it cool. Shake the cognac and whipping cream, then strain. Serve in a cocktail glass.

1 dash lime juice

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour in the rum, honey and lime juice and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass.

1 oz Drambuie Scotch whisky
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp lime juice
Directions:
In a coffee mug, stir Scotch whisky, honey and lime juice. Warm the drambuie, light it, then pour it into the mug. Stir rapidly.
