[dropcap type=”1″]E[/dropcap]very year there are a multitude of exceptional cigars released onto the market for the enjoyment of cigar smokers everywhere. Oftentimes though, some of the best cigars come out of the smallest factories from brands that don’t have the same advertising budget as the big guys. It can often be difficult to explore every new release and cigar that hits the pavement, so we did all the hard work for you. After smoking hundred of boutique cigars, we whittled the list down to our favorites…

Each of these cigars are guaranteed to be delicious, and hail from a smaller manufacturer that you may or may not have already heard of. So go ahead, read on and perhaps you’ll discover your newest favorite smoke!

1. Falto Dos Banderas Lancero 6 7/8″ X 40

 

Wrapper: Dominican Corojo

Binder: Brazil

Filler: Dominican and Cameroon

Tasting Notes: Undertones of roasted coffee with touches of molasses, dark chocolate and leather with pleasant creaminess and a clean finish.

 

 

 

2. Esteban Carrera Chupa Cabra 6 X 50


Wrapper: Habano Oscuro

Binder: Nicaraguan

Filler: Nicaraguan

Tasting Notes: Medium to full-bodied with a heady essence and rich, earthy taste. There are notes of coffee in the sweet and creamy smoke. 

 

 

 

3. La Sirena Original King Poseidon Gran Toro 6 X 60

 

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro

Binder: Nicaraguan Criollo

Filler: Nicaraguan Jalapa and Condega

Tasting Notes: Medium to full-bodied with notes of dark chocolate and hay.

 

 

 

4. Wilson Adams Mr. Wilson Torpedo 6 1/8″ X 52

 

Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés

Binder: Undisclosed

Filler: Predominantly Nicaraguan

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied, balanced, oily smoke full of sweetness, pepper, wood and coffee with hints of cocoa and a smooth finish. 

 

 


5. Southern Draw Kudzu Robusto (Box Pressed) 5 1/2″ X 52

 

Wrapper: Habano Oscuro

Binder: Ometepe Nicaraguan

Filler: Proprietary Nicaraguan

Tasting Notes: Medium-bodied, velvety smooth with notes of suede leather, semi-sweet cocoa, black pepper and a sweet earthiness.

 

 

6. Kings Arapiraca Robusto 5 X 52

 

 

Wrapper: 2006 Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro

Binder: Ecuadorian Habano

Filler: Dominican San Victor

Tasting Notes: Medium-bodied with a smooth taste and spice

 

 

7. Hiram & Soloman Fellowcraft

 

Wrapper: Habano 2000

Binder: Dominican

Filler: Dominican

Tasting Notes: Medium/Full bodied with rich pepper notes surrounded by a symphony of cedar and dried dark fruits with hints of earthiness. 

 

 

8. Foundation Cigar Co. El Güegüense “The Wise Man” Churchill

 

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo 99- Finca Puntalito Jalapa

Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo 99- Finca San Jose Jalapa

Filler: Nicaragua Corojo 99 and Corojo from Esteli and Jalapa

Tasting Notes: Well balanced with cedar notes, hints of spice, and light sweetness. 

 

 

 

9. Sindicato Maduro Toro 6 X 54

 

Wrapper: San Andrés Morrón

Binder: Double binder, Esteli Nicaraguan

Filler: Esteli and Jalapa Nicaraguan

Tasting Notes: Bold, cocoa, earth. 4 of 5 strength.

Binder: Jamastran

Filler: Jamastran, Jalapa

Tasting Notes: La Nuit Blanche is an extremely rare blend because of its ligero wrapper. The cigar starts with a full bodied chocolate arrival, as the oils warm up a long espresso finish lingers on the palate.
