Editor’s Pick: Padron 1964 Anniversary Series – Padron Principe Anniversary Maduro

46 x 4 ½”

I’ve always been a fan of the “dog walker” cigar. (Generally, a cigar lasting 30 minutes or less.) It stems from my NYC roots. The smoke offered me enough time to spin around Greenwich Village a bit with my pooch, enjoy a short smoke, and finish it off with a lemon ice from a local pizzeria.

I’ve been a long-time fan of the Padron 1964 Anniversary Series, too. I’ve been a Southern California resident for over 20 years now and I enjoy walking my dog around my hilly, horse town neighborhood just as much, if not more, than the aforementioned urban scenario.

The highly-lauded and highly-rated Padron 1964 Anniversary Series is a diverse one. They range from sun grown to maduro and offer 10 different sizes in the line.

The 46 x 4 ½” Principe Anniversary Maduro is sublime. It’s smooth and creamy, and offers consistent toasty and cocoa notes. I’m always up for a Cuban-inspired box-pressed stick and this beauty didn’t disappoint the purist in me. The construction is wonderful, the flavors are complex and it offers a balanced smoke throughout. Easy draw, billowy smoke release, and a little more full than medium to my palate.

Whether you’re walking your dog or relaxing with a cocktail on the porch, this Padron is a highly recommended after dinner smoke.
