Two barrels of Hennessy’s anniversary blend sailed from France to the U.S. on the Hermione; events open to the public.

As you may know, 2015 marks 250 years of Hennessy. In honor of this monumental anniversary, the cognac maker has placed two barrels of their anniversary blend on the Hermione and sailed across the Atlantic from France to the United States with them. The original Hermione voyage, which took place in 1780, also carried cognac.
The 18th century Hermione replica arrived in Mt. Vernon, Virginia on June 9, 2015. At George Washington’s home in Mt. Vernon, the Hennessy Maison Chairman and CEO Bernard Peillon presented Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association with the first barrel. The second barrel will be donated to charity in New York at the end of the Hermione’s voyage in the beginning of July.

The Hermione will be docked at South Street Seaport, Pier 15 in New York from July 1 through July 4. Several events are open to the public during this time, including tours of the ship, product samples, music and art. For more information, visit Hermione2015.com.
