WORLD COCKTAIL TOUR STOP SEVEN: EUROPE
Ingredients: 1 l red wine, 1 l cognac, 1 l cointreau, 1 cinnamon stick, sugar (to taste), 3-4 cloves
Directions: Place the red wine in a saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick and cloves. Sweeten to taste with the sugar. Heat. Right before serving, add the cognac and cointreau. Remove saucepan from fire and pour in hot drink glasses. This recipe serves 6.
Cocktail: Brussels Coffee
Ingredients: 2 parts Mandarine Napoleon, hot black coffee
Garnish: whipped cream
Directions: Warm a hot drink glass. Pour in the Mandarine Napoleon. Add the hot black coffee and top it with the whipped cream.
Cocktail: King of Denmark
Ingredients: 4 parts Pernod, 3 parts black currant syrup, 8-10 parts water, ice cubes
Directions: Fill a high ball glass with ice. Pour in all ingredients. Stir.
Cocktail: London Fog
Ingredients: 44 ml peppermint white liqueur, 44 ml Amer Picon, 1 dash Angostura bitters, ice cubes
Directions: Put all ingredients, including the ice, in a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Ingredients: 1 cl white rum, 1 cl brandy, 2 cl coffee liqueur, ice cubes
Directions: Pour white rum, brandy and coffee liqueur in an ice-filled mixing glass and stir. Strain into a snifter.
Cocktail: French Quarter
Ingredients: 1 oz Chambord Liqueur Royale De France, 1 oz Southern Comfort, 1 oz pineapple juice, 1 oz cranberry juice, ice cubes
Garnish: lime wedge
Directions: Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in all ingredients. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge.
Ingredients: 30 ml bourbon, 20 ml grenadine syrup, 20 ml red vermouth, 5 ml Pernod, ice cubes
Garnish: orange slice, lemon slice
Directions: In a mixing glass, stir all the ingredients, including the ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon and orange slices.
Ingredients: 4 cl Metaxa (5 star), 1 cl Cointreau, 1 cl crème de cassis, 1 cl lime juice, 4 cl passion fruit juice, 6 cl cranberry juice, ice cubes
Garnish: 1 lemon slice, 2 maraschino cherries, 2 straws
Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and all other ingredients. Shake well. Fill a hurricane glass halfway with ice. Strain mix into hurricane glass. Garnish with a lemon slice and two maraschino cherries. Serve with two straws.
Ingredients: 1 oz cognac, 3/4 oz crème de cassis, 2 oz Egri Bikavér, ice cubes
Directions: Pour all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir. Strain into a chilled red wine glass.
Cocktail: Dublin Handshake
Ingredients: 1/2 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream, 1/2 oz Irish whiskey, 3/4 oz sloe gin, ice cubes
Directions: Including the ice, place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Ingredients: 22 ml amaretto liqueur, 45 ml Campari, 45 ml dry vermouth, ice cubes
Directions: Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Ingredients: 30 ml gin, 15 ml Cointreau, 15 ml orange juice, 4 dashes orange bitters, shaved ice
Garnish: orange slice
Directions: Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an orange slice.
Cocktail: Viking II
Ingredients: 20 ml Galliano, 20 ml aquavit
Directions: Using a bar spoon, layer the ingredients in order. Serve in a lowball glass.
Ingredients: 50 ml Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka, 150 ml apple juice
Directions: Chill apple juice, vodka and lowball glass. Pour chilled juice and vodka in the chilled glass. Serve.
Ingredients: 3 cl Licor Beirão, 2 cl brandy, 1 cl orange juice, ice cubes
Directions: Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a snifter.
Ingredients: 50 ml vodka, crème de mûres (blackberry liqueur), ice cubes
Directions: Shake vodka and blackberry liqueur with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a blackberry.
Cocktail: Flying Scotsman
Ingredients: 1 oz Scotch whisky, 1 oz sweet vermouth, 1 dash bitters,1/4 tsp sugar syrup, ice cubes
Directions: Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a cocktail glass and serve.
Ingredients: 30 ml cognac, 10 ml Dubonnet, 10 ml lime juice, 15 ml sugar syrup, ice cubes
Garnish: orange twist
Directions: Place all ingredients, including ice, in a cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Serve with an orange twist.
Cocktail: Swedish Fish
Ingredients: 2 oz Black Haus blackberry schnapps, 1 oz akvavit, 1 splash cranberry juice, ice cubes
Garnish: fresh fruit
Directions: Shake all of the ingredients with the ice. Strain and garnish with fresh fruit. Serve in a cocktail glass.
Cocktail: Swiss Alps
Ingredients: 1 1/2 oz Hpnotiq liqueur, 3/4 oz white crème de cacao, ice cubes
Directions: Place ice, liqueur, and white crème de cacao in a cocktail shaker. Shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
